Our History

In July of 1956, at 1507 NW 65th Street, The Holy Ghost Church of God of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. was founded and organized under the leadership of the late Elder Daniel D. Arline. The Lord blessed him with a few faithful members and as the membership grew, the Lord blessed the congregation with a larger and better place to worship located at 2025 NW 5th Place.

There were great revivals conducted at this location; one by the late Elder A.C. Nance, another by the late Bishop J.R. Riggan, and the late Mother L. Moore. Through preaching of the gospel at each of these individual revivals, many souls were saved.

The church moved to 545 NW 20th Street whereby another great revival took place, conducted by the late Mother Stevenson. Everyone worked so faithfully; and after fasting and praying, the Lord gave the congregation the desires of our hearts and blessed us with another place located at 257 NW 22nd Lane. Even at this new location, the Lord continued to bless and save many souls.

After a few years, the congregation moved to 4210 NW 17th Avenue and the Lord continued to bless the church. Finally, in 1969, the church moved to its present location at 8157 NW 22nd Avenue. Great revivals were held, including those led by Elder Jewel Davis, and many souls came to the Lord.

The Lord has been good to us and has given us this property. It is paid off, clear and free of debt and the adjourning property was purchased with hopes of expansion. Throughout the years, God has truly been good to us. We will always be thankful for the blessings He has bestowed on us.
